Take the number of times you miss-step by walking into your pedal while mounting, multiply it by 45+ years only to discover that the scar tissue is what is left of the three layers of skin you once had as a YP (young punk). Even with extensive help, you will never recover what you had. You might mention the benefit of wearing soccer padding, “Save the pain, lots to Gain!”

The K-9 pins, which are the taller of the two pin options, work well to improve the traction/contact between your bike shoes and pedal (especially if your shoe has a curved sole, like my Pearl Izumi Launch Xpeds). Using a combination of the shorter pins and K-9s can also help you dial in the float of the pedal. I only wish several more of these were included with the pedal purchase.
