These pedals are simply a game-changer for me. I’ve been using these for about four months now and they’ve been fantastic. I tried going clipless and just ended up crashing on features that I never had trouble with before, mostly because I was too nervous of not being able to unclip in time. But I’ve never had a problem with these — not once. Plus, I never miss ‘snapping’ in. Even the best with clipless can never say that they clip in successfully the first time. With these, you just hover your foot even near the pedals and you just let the magnets do the final part. If you hear a satisfying ‘click’ then you know you’re good.
One other plus — the part that attaches to the SPD shoes is simply a flat plate so there’s never a concern with getting a rock stuck in there. Clipless people constantly have to worry about a rock blocking them from clipping in — not us!

Great blend between flat and clipped in. Little heavy but no issues for a DH or Ebike.

They are out of stock a lot

Great pedals. I am coming from flat pedals (nukeproof sam hill), wanting more retention for rough riding, but not the clipped in while i am falling over feeling, which just made me scared. These definitely enhance climbing performance and keep feet on pedals in rough stuff– but if you really yank hard when falling, you feet come off. What I like most, in comparison to clipless ( was previously trying mallet DH pedals), was that you can place your foot on pedal in a more neutral position ie similar to flats with weight over arch, vs clipless forcing you more onto the ball of foot. Feels very balanced and natural coming from flats. Want another pair.

Couldn’t ask for a better e-bike pedal. Big confidence booster in steep tech knowing you won’t slip a pedal but can put a foot down if you need too. They are heavy so there are some trade-offs for the real bikes. Easy to clean the insides to keep the squeaks away (I’ve only had to clean once in thee months). The medal frame did bend in one spot a bit from a pedal strike so I am slightly worried about the long term durability. I am impressed with the pin strength and have only had to replace a couple so far. I’ll probably get another one when they are available!

I’ve been road biking for over thirty years. Now, I don’t care much about weight as I do safety. With these I feel more comfortable on climbs especially when there is no shoulder. Contact is secure enough and no loss of power on these flats. Takes a little time when you first step on to find your sweet spot on the pedal, but I do. Shortly after riding on my first pair I have now bought 2 more for my other bikes. Agree a “north” pull is strong enough. Thanks for the innovation Hustle!

Let me start this review by saying that I have been riding clipped in since I started mountain biking. It was an easy transition from road. This year I encountered a difficult climb and another mtb’er told me that if I had flat pedals I wouldn’t have that problem because it was the fear of clipping off. I don’t know how it happened but I stumbled across the REM system and added myself to the newsletter. Long-story short, I purchased the pedals and some nice 5/10’s. This is all new to me as I had really never ridden with flats. I followed all the instructions and on my first ride, my feet came off maybe three times but going through chunky, Rick gardens, climbs and drops. No jumps as I am not that good. The second ride through the same trail I had no issues, at all. I felt like I was clipped but had some float. I have since adjusted my right foot cleat which tends to turn in, and have had two more rides with no problems. I do like them! The funny thing is that I don’t know exactly what I like about them, but I feel secure and at the same time free and cool. I love the big platform.
I like them so much that I got another pair of 5/10’s and order another set of cleats. Once your know how to find the sweat spot the rest is history and that takes some rides.
I hope this helps the undecided person.

These pedals are confidence inspiring. I’ve ridden flats for years and have always thought about clipless but didn’t like idea of not being able to bail off the pedal. These pedals give me the confidence to pedal hard through the rough stuff without worrying about my feet coming off but also being able to ride steep exposed trails without worrying about my feet getting stuck and me falling over the edge of a cliff. Anytime I go to the trail, bike shops, bike parks I always get asked what I think of the pedals and I tell them they are a game changer! Buy these pedals!
I also want to mention that Hustle’s customer service has been so helpful and are second to none!

Wow – finally had my first ride on these over the weekend and they are fantastic. I was apprehensive going into my first technical climb, but they’re the perfect blend of retention and the ability to bail. Excellent on downhills, as well. Plenty of grip with the mix of regular and K9 pins. Highly recommended!

Tried the competition before these guys hit the market. Loved the concept but felt execution was lacking. Not the case with these bad boys. Set was super easy, grip is amazing and consistent and I’ve been using them for about a year without a single issue yet. I live in Bentonville so it’s seasonal riding and they’ve survived the mud, rain, snow and heat. I also really dug the personal note they wrote inside the box. Not a must have by any means, but it’s just nice. If you’re looking for that clipless feel without the risk, these pedals are a must.
