Hands down the best pedal EVER… After years of racing downhill and switching between flats and clipless each race, I now have a pedal that works for every type of trail and terrain.

Such a fun ride! It’s a nice middle ground between flat pedals and clipless pedals. You get a strong down force, to keep your foot on the pedals during bumps and climbing, but still allows you to get your foot off the pedal when needed with little effort.

I was lucky enough to test these out and I can say they are going to be a game-changer for a lot of riders. If you’re a new rider scared of clipless these are for you, if you are a hardened mountain biker who likes flats buts want more pulling power these are for you. Coming from a clipless it took a couple of rides to find the sweet spot but now they are sweet. Bring on techy terrain.

I just received my pair this week…strapped ’em on my HighBall 29’er yesterday and took my first ride. Amazing! Infinite play, left to right…sticks solid on the upstroke…yet very easy to roll off and disconnect. I would recommend these pedals to even my most hardcore friends. I’ll be getting a 2nd pair for the indoor trainer too.

I want to leave a pretty thorough review so if you don’t want to read a long review, just know that I like the pedals a LOT. Coming mostly from flat pedals but experimenting with clipless off and on for 2 years. I’ve been riding bikes “seriously” for 5 years now, I’m 32. I’ve always been on flat pedals up until about 2 years ago when started using clipless pedals on some of my local trails. I started racing enduro right when I got into riding. Flat pedals always gave me more confidence and with the right shoe/pedal combination I always felt really planted. Despite my faster friends who were on clipless telling me to swap to clipless, I was more confident on trail knowing I could drop a foot or get away from the bike to land on my feet if things got out of control. Fast forward to a couple years ago when I wanted to give clipless pedals a try in hopes of gaining those precious seconds on trail. I started with crankbros enduro pedals, didn’t like them, swapped to shimano DH pedals, they were OK with no pins in them, and then I settled on the HT downhill pedals which I liked the most of the 3 clipless options. However, I never got comfortable riding anything outside of my local XC style trails on them. As much as I wanted to race enduro on my clipless pedals, I never could RACE my bike with 100% confidence. There was always something holding me back. Yes I know it was mostly in my head, but I gave it 2 years. I’ve given the Hustle pedals 2 good test rides now and I’m already convinced these are a great option for me. I’m 6’6″ 230 lbs and a former collegiate athlete. Not to brag, but I’ve got some power. It is nearly impossible for me to pull my foot straight up off of the pedal. However, with the slightest roll of the foot I am able to “unclip”, with the same effort as stepping away from a good flat pedal/shoe combination. This always made me hesitate, even if only slightly with clipless pedals, but there is no hesitation with the Hustle pedals. I still get the benefit of pulling up on the clipless pedals while pedaling to increase my pedalling efficiency as well. The “pull up” power is legit. On top of that, the bike feels just a little more playful than normal and i was finding a little extra speed in slight downhill sections by using more little bunny hops and pumping the trail, whereas I would normally just point and plow with heels driving the bike forward. Which is good technique, but now I can do one or the other, or both, with more confidence than ever. Not sponsored, I paid full price and I’m probably gonna get a 2nd pair so I don’t have to swap pedals between my two bikes.

These pedals are LEGIT!
Everything that you want from a flat pedal PLUS you are connected without any of the concerns you have about clipless. The connection is super strong but, because your are not mechanically connected, you just step off…I experienced no learning curve just instant stoke!! (I was riding with aggressively pinned flats prior) I was instantly faster everywhere with the Avery REMtechs. I have many friends that switch between flats and clipless depending upon where they ride and the conditions, no need with Avery! Snow/ice, mud, it doesn’t matter no cleats or mechanism to clog. Also…if you ride an eMTB, I race Enduro on mine, these pedals are magic! (no hating, I ride/race non assisted bikes too!)
I’ll be getting another set so that I don’t have to switch from bike to bike…got to have my REMtechs! (And they look sick)

I moved over from clips to the REMtech pedals recently. I had been running clips for the past 3 years before the switch and it was a pretty seamless switch. I love feeling attached to the bike but having a lot of float to move around.

So I usually ride shimano spd multi-release with pedals at super loose to give me enough hold but allows me to release relatively easy. With that being said I gave the hustle rem pedal a go because it seemed like a solid alternative… and man I am blown away! (I ride enduro for those wondering) . These pedals make you feel like you are glued to the pedals but release so incredibly easy without even thinking about it. I can kick out dab the foot on loose turns still pull tricks when I jump without losing a foot and kick it off if want to. I have already been recommending these pedals to all my friends. If the price is holding you back (as it was for me) trust me when I say this is one of the best mods I have done for my bike and I have done them all (axs, vorsprung, push 11.6, etc etc) do yourself a favor and try them you will not regret it.

Absolutely love these pedals!!!
Takes a little time messing experimenting with the plate on the shoe to get it perfect, but when you get them dialed, the entire experience is awesome. Very secure, definitely helps with pedaling efficiency and having to constantly adjust your foot on rough terrain like with flats.
I’m recommending them to everyone!

I’m new to riding and didn’t know to clip or flats. I’ve been riding flats the last few months and these are GAME CHANGER! So much connection but still easy to release from at any point! So happy with my purchase (:

I ordered this pedals when they realised them and I recieved them on Perú almost two monts ago. It took some rides to get used to the way they clipped but after that my riding skills have only improve. The magnet’s force is incredibly strong.
As a funny fact, you should be aware with tour car’s keys and the pedals. When I was taking off my bike from the car’s rack, the pedals touched my pocket and the keys. The keys didn’t work anymore for all that day and I had to use the other pair I have at home. Now is kind of funny, but I hope this helps somebody to avoid the same mistake.

As someone who was starting to get frustrated with the limitations of flat pedals but not ready to be fully clipped in, these are perfect. I feel confident trying big moves on my Hustle pedals because I know I can smoothly pop my feet off if I have to bail. These give me all the benefits of clipless pedals without the fear of getting stuck in them. I ride in dusty, gravelly terrain, but I haven’t had any issues with dirt accumulating on the magnets. Truly the perfect pedal!

I have been waiting for these for years and absolutely am blown away. I have tried other magnetic pedals but these are on a hole new level! Bought for me and my wife!

I’ve been riding Hustle’s REMtech pedals for over 1000 miles. They are the perfect solution for a beginner/intermediate rider who continues to push to be better. I’ve always ridden flats and can say that the connection to the bike with the anxiety-reducing simple release has gotten me through terrain I couldn’t ride before. Tougher, punchy climbs and chunky descents are much better when connected to the bike at the pedals.

Wow, what a game changer for my mountain biking experience and progression (female rider here!). I have always been a flat pedal rider, having tried clipless pedals out in the past…. they freaked me out to much, not being able to release my foot fast enough. At the same time, while I love the freedom of my flat pedals, I have always felt like something is missing and I am behind in my uphill mountain biking skills. Found Hustles magnetic pedals, thought I would give them a whirl, first ride on them blew my expectations out of the water. I not only have the pull of a clipless pedal uphill, but I have the instant release of dropping my foot of the pedal JUST LIKE FLATS. I was a bit skeptical on the release part, but they have proved just as smooth of a release. It’s like I am still riding flats with all the uphill power ability of a clipless pedal. My only feedback is they are on the heavier side, compared to my very light weight flats…. but this makes sense to me with the magnet and because I gain so much on the uphill, I could care less about the weight of them. I will be a faithful customer of these pedals and Hustle Labs for years to come. Oh yea….. FANTASTIC customer service, makes sense though as they are a bunch of rad mountain bikers from Colorado! (Also, QR code with Youtube instructions-simple and easy, thank you for this!). Happy riding! -Boulder, Colorado

Fantastic pedals, what a game-changer for my mountain biking experience and progression of skills. Being someone who is rather nervous about clipless pedals, this is a great middle ground for getting the same flat pedal experience with all the power a clipless pedal provides. Very easy release of your foot, as if I am still on flats. Oh yea….. FANTASTIC customer service, makes sense though as they are a bunch of rad mountain bikers from Colorado! Love these pedals! Better than I even expected! Able to get a lot more power on the uphills, control on the downhills/technical sections, but also able to easily step off the pedal when needed. Can’t wait to ride many miles with these.

So glad I made this purchase! Definitely my favorite pedals

I love these pedals and recommend them to anyone. I feel like I’m getting the best of both worlds of pedals. Well done!

I am constantly asked how I like these pedals when I’m at the trail-hub here in STL, or really anywhere when I run into people out riding. I started riding a lot of enduro trails like Shepherd Mountain in Ironton, MO last year after getting into MTB in March. I was consistently coming off of the pedals and tearing up my legs on baby-head sized rock gardens, and needed some help. I was recommended these pedals and they’ve been a great decision! Since picking these pedals up I realized that I was riding with the pedal under the center of my foot, which contributed to me slipping off the front of the pedals in rock gardens. These have shifted my foot backward on the pedal where I’m in the right position for riding the steeps and staying on and planted. While I’m sure clipless could have done the same for me, these are an amazing in-between for those that don’t want to make that full jump to riding clipless, and like riding flats. I can take my foot off on jumps for 1-footers no problem, I can flat-track turns foot-out without an issue, and when I want to be glued to the pedals I am. The magnets are great, your foot goes to the right spot and you can adjust the pins to match whatever shoe you’re running. I’m no longer slipping the pedals and tearing my legs up, I have way more control over the bike for technical climbs, hopping around on techy turns, and throwing the back end out on whips.
Overall these pedals have made me a better rider, and couldn’t recommend them more and this is a long version of the review I give everyone that asks me about them. I will say I’ve bent the actual metal on one of them on one side from a drop into a rock garden, I can’t insert a pin any longer in one of the holes, but the actual pedal itself overall still rides perfectly fine, just needed to figure out a different pin layout. I would buy these pedals again in the future.
